We are looking for an expert in roll-to-roll thin-film manufacturing technology for the production of large-area solar cells. The main responsibilities are to lead upscaling, to refine the manufacturing concept, and to support the transfer of prototype processes to industrial production.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has deep experience with managing thin-film technology and industrial roll-to-roll manufacturing in vacuum, and is also experienced in semiconductor technology (preferably large area thin films). Strong negotiation skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, and process specialists. Experience in management of complex projects and a background in technology and business development are a clear advantage. Coatings Process Engineer

Denton Vacuum, the leader in equipment fabrication, located in Moorestown New Jersey, has an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Coating Process Engineer. 

Function:

Develop the quality specifications and operating parameters for all products. To design and develop new products and improve present processes. Assist the Maintenance and Production departments with troubleshooting problems, scheduling preventative maintenance, and installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• In depth knowledge of sputtering, evaporation, and etching techniques used in industry. Develop and recommend proposals for improved engineering methods, procedures and equipment directed at reducing costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform in house and remote acceptance testing on equipment to demonstrate that system manufactured meet customer specifications.
• Write manuals for equipment manufactured.
• Train customers on using the system they have purchased. 

Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering as well as two years of thin films / vacuum coating experience in a manufacturing environment. In lieu of a degree, at least two years of related education complimented by five years of thin films / vacuum coating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge in the operation of sputter Vacuum Deposition equipment and Magnetic Sputtering Vacuum Deposition equipment.
• Knowledge in the area of Optical Thin Film Deposition and Characterization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. All communication must be in English. The ability to operate computer equipment for word processing, trend analysis, and product testing is also required.         
• Highly organized and able to juggle several projects at once.  The position requires an individual who is able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
• Having knowledge developing thin film recipes such as AR coatings, filters, and reflectors, a definite plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Veeco St. Paul manufacturers molecular beam epitaxy high-vacuum systems in its St. Paul facility.  These systems consist of a vacuum system, in-vacuum robot, and electronics that are built to customer configurations from a standard product line.  The systems engineer leads the successful coordination of engineering and manufacturing to delivery systems to the specific customer configuration.  Balancing engineering skills, manufacturing understanding, and customer communications, this position provides both breadth and depth in the engineering discipline.  This position is best suited to individuals that like equipment design and enjoy seeing equipment built and delivered to the success of the customers.  The systems design engineer will coordinate 3 – 5 projects per year, with each project ranging in value from $600,000 to more than $3,000,000.  The position has regular interface to all of engineering, manufacturing, and has regular contact with the executive management team. 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides project and engineering leadership for the engineering, manufacturing, and customer support for large-scale process vacuum systems. 
• Maintains schedules, and mitigates risk factors in engineering and manufacturing that may impact achievement of on-time system delivery.
• Provides single point-of-contact for receiving customer to manage all integration elements of the system to the customers facility and process. 
• Coordinates cross-department teams to ensure accuracy of engineering requirements and designs, and ability to successfully manufacture.
• Hosts customer visits including acceptance teasting by the customers. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Previous equipment design, or experience operating semiconductor, vacuum equipment, or other similar high tech large scale equipment.
• Previsous experience with SAP or similar MRP software, beneficial, but not required.
• Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• Previous design skills beneficial, but not required. 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
